Wine List
Introduction
We hope you enjoy reading and selecting from our extensive wine list. It is split into Classic/Old World and Modern/New World and by red and white so you can find the wine you like to drink or explore a different country or style.
Classic/Old World
This encompasses the great Bordeaux and Burgundies from France, Riojas from Spain and Soave from Italy as well as many others, though predominantly Europe. In very general terms, Old World Techniques in the vineyard and cellar have relied more on tradition and less on science. The notion of terrior (geography, soil, climate) is an important and well established one in much of the Old World, especially France, Germany and Italy. Overall these wines exude elegance and finesse and are mostly designed to be paired with food.
Modern/New World
New World is a term much used in the wine world, initially somewhat patronisingly but with increasing admiration over the past 25 years as the New World producing countries have made huge inroads to have a presence on our wine shelves and wine lists. Wines tend to be of utmost quality, focused on the varietal characters and made with the newest wine technologies and ideas. They are fruit driven and, in most part, designed to be drunk young. Australia and Chile lead the way, but South Africa, New Zealand and the USA are not far behind.
The vintages and ABV % are correct to the best of our knowledge but may change with the seasonal harvests
WINE GUIDE: - White and Rosé wines are designated numbers 1 to 9 with ‘1’ being
the driest and ‘9’ being the sweetest. Red wines are designated letters A to E with ‘A’ being
the lightest and softest and ‘E’ being the deepest and fullest with a concentration of flavour
