The Mattress

1. Take one mile of tempered steel and twist into thousands of tiny springs.
2. Wrap individually in 120 metres of finest cotton calico.
3. Blend teased long-stranded horsehair with silk, mohair and lambs wool.
4. Top with 15lbs of soft cotton.
5. Hand sew with several rows of border stitching (allow 8 hours to complete).
6. Cover in nine square metres of finest Belgian ticking and hand tuft. The Divan
7. Build a frame from finest quality timber, repeat steps 1 and 2, add cotton and coir and upholster into timber frame.
8. Place mattress on divan and serve with fresh linen for a truly delicious night’s sleep.
