The Meudon hotel surpassed our expectations from the moment we arrived. Staff are friendly and efficient and the owners are always on hand, hospitable, caring and down to earth. The rooms are great and have been upgraded to provide all that you could wish for, comfortable bed, great storage, good quality linens, hot shower, great bath and awesome valley views down to the sea. Tea, coffee and biscuits are locally sourced and toiletries are good quality. The food is absolutely fabulous, we stayed for 3 nights dinner, bed and breakfast and every meal was superb and so tasty served by a young, talented kitchen staff. The hotel sits in beautiful, sloping grounds in a natural, well managed valley which leads to a secluded cove and private beach with direct access to the Cornwall coastal path. The gardens are terrific and beautifully cared for by the family owners matching any gardens open to the public. There is a wheelchair accessible path all the way down to the beach and several trails through the grounds that look natural. We particularly liked pre-dinner drinks in the bar, the staff all have a great sense of humour. We would love to return for a longer break next time. It’s hard to preserve the atmosphere that the Meudon has managed to hang on to, genuinely caring about the guests, the hotel and staff and other traditional hotel values in an increasingly competitive industry, most family hotels over time lose this but the Meudon hasn’t and its great to see this. Thanks to all at the Meudon for a terrific stay.
