SURF!, a landmark exhibition at National Maritime Museum Cornwall, honours a hundred years of Cornish surfing heritage, demonstrating how this county has established itself as a worldwide hub for surfing advancement, environmental advocacy and pioneering blue health initiatives. The showcase examines the profound impact of Cornwall's surf movement on music, cinema, style and artistic expression, featuring previously unseen creations by renowned contemporary artists such as Damien Hirst and Abigail Fallis. Using a collection of 100 surfboards as its foundation, the exhibition brings to light the forgotten stories of overlooked female wave riders, illuminates the 1920s visionaries who blazed the trail and highlights today's surfing legends forged in Cornish waters.
