Restaurant Meudon is incredibly lucky to have secured the services of a Head Chef of the calibre of Mr Darren Kerley, and he was the perfect fit for the owners’ vision for the standard of dining experience that they had planned for Meudon. Creating the highest quality food and beverage offering at the hotel has always been a top priority and, in our opening year, expectations have definitely been exceeded.

Though proud to have been raised in Cornwall, Darren Kerley has worked in some of the most highly regarded establishments in and outside of London. This has instilled in him the highest standards of quality and service, and he refuses to cut corners when it comes to the selection and preparation of his menus. Darren is delighted to have finally ‘come home’ and to be in a position to use his considerable talents in Cornwall, working with the finest fresh produce the country has to offer.

Darren has worked under Marco Pierre White at 3 Michelin star ‘Oakroom’, with Raymond Blanc at ‘Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons’ in Oxford, with Robert Reid, Alain Senderens at Lucas Carton in Paris, James Walker at Le Ponte de la Tour, at Restaurant Sauterelle (where they were awarded 3 AA rosettes after year 1), at BBR for Leonid Shutov, and the prestigious Queenwood Club in Ottershaw. A rather impressive CV!

He has brought this extensive experience, and impeccably high set of standards, to Restaurant Meudon, creating exquisite dishes using the bountiful supply of local Cornish produce that is available to him.

To have helped the new Restaurant Meudon gain huge praise, and achieve a Gold in the Taste of the West Awards , and a silver in the Cornwall Tourism Awards 'Restaurant of the Year' category, in our first year of business, is a fantastic achievement!
